The worlds of fashion and, more importantly, sneakers don’t have enough women in them – in relation to this year’s International women’s day, we want to share the following message: this world is for you, so show us how you see things. At the same time, we want to give more visibility to the women that already have a standing in this industry through a series of interviews with the women of Footshop. In the last part, we questioned Bojana, Adriana and Yana.

Which of your feminine strengths do you utilize at work or in your personal projects?

As I’m in a managerial position, I try to be transparent, work in a logical manner and accept decisions in situations that require responsibility for the end result. I don’t know whether those are typical “feminine strengths”, but my empathy definitely helps. I’m of the opinion that listening and communication are some of the most important skills of a leader, so I believe that this helps change the dynamics of the group and make the upper management, which is mostly men, think about situations from a different perspective.

What would Footshop be like without women?

Are you kidding me? Women are an incredibly important element that changes the dynamics of any group for the better. In our team, we have a lot of diversity as far as women’s qualities go, and complement each other well. I appreciate this proactivity, creativity and inspiration very much and for me, it’s an inseparable component of our team. Which leads me to the conclusion that without women, Footshop wouldn’t be Footshop.

What position do women have in street fashion and what is, in your opinion, their role?

I think their role is very clear – to be specific, it’s making the world of streetwear, which is still perceived as a male matter, more gender neutral. In recent years, this has changed and we can see in the data that it evens out the statistics more. Women’s interest in streetwear is growing and every female designer contributes to this with their work.

Which of your feminine strengths do you utilize at work or in your personal projects?

Considering most of my work is communicating with influencers, I’d say that’s where I utilize my skills the best. I always try to be friendly and when difficulties or misunderstandings arise, I explain everything calmly and comprehensively.

P.S.:  This rule isn’t so simple in my personal relationships ?

What would Footshop be like without women?

I can’t really imagine that, despite most of the guys in our team being incredibly creative and great colleagues, but the bravery and diligence of the girls sometimes blows me away.

What position do women have in street fashion and what is, in your opinion, their role?

I believe that women in street fashion are an example of self-acceptance, self confidence, creativity and many other important qualities. For me personally, women’s role in street fashion is to show us something very real and democratic.

Bojana Vasev

Which of your feminine strengths do you utilize at work or in your personal projects?

I think one of women’s strongest qualities is the softness of our voice. ? When used at the right time, it can do wonders – it definitely opened some doors for me. But it can also serve as a general reminder for everyone to be more open and refined in a dialogue.

What would Footshop be like without women?

I’d imagine it would be a very chaotic place, haha.

What position do women have in street fashion and what is, in your opinion, their role?

I think our role in street fashion is to show and prove to the world that we can wear what we want! Girls aren’t afraid and neither are our outfits.
