The environmental impact of the fashion industry is a widely discussed topic. As a result, brands constantly come up with concepts and projects that aim to deal with this situation. You can find our biggest project so far, #sustainability, created in collaboration with adidas and Reebok, everywhere on our website. Let us show you what’s new.

Sustainability is an increasingly discussed topic, especially in the fashion industry. At Footshop, we’re well aware that we as individuals can have a big impact, too. As we grow and sneaker enthusiasts join our ranks or follow us on social media, we’re paying more attention to what we communicate and what values our company represents. So we’ve come up with a couple resolutions we want to focus on as a young start-up.

Along with adidas and Reebok, we worked on our website and created a green space on it, where sustainable products can take refuge and, more importantly, be easily found by those that want to put an end to fast fashion.

So what’s new?

The update’s based around a “sustainable” landing page that will direct you where you need to go, and focus on projects and initiatives with the hashtag #SUSTAINABILITY. Another new feature are filters that let you only select sustainable sneakers and apparel. If you’re not into scrolling for ages before finding something you like, don’t worry. All sustainable products will be marked by a little green label.

Knowledge is power. Which is why the “details” tab under a product will now feature lots of information about the used materials, manufacturing and more. For example, you won’t miss out on knowing that the adidas Clean Classics are fully vegan, the laces are from 100% recycled polyester and the packaging comes from upcycled cardboard boxes.

The iconic adidas Stan Smith is back

There’s no need to introduce the Stan Smith silhouette. Since 1973, they’ve remained basically the same. The iconic model first won people over on tennis courts worldwide, and soon after, they found their place in the streets and our everyday lives. These sneakers are a part of adidas’ pledge to use exclusively recycled polyester by no sooner than 2024. The Stan Smiths are made from Primegreen, a recycled material, and the upper is composed of 50% recycled material, no new polyester.

Changes you can make immediately

At Footshop, we don’t like telling people what to do, or saying that we do it better. We’re more focused on pushing our own boundaries and doing things better than before. Even small changes can have a big impact, and you don’t need to wait for new sneakers to get started.
