adidas Originals x FIFA World Cup 26™ on Footshop!

Hey, Tom from Footshop here 👋. If there’s one moment where football and streetwear don’t just meet but become best friends, it’s the World Cup. And World Cup 2026 – for the first time in history spanning three countries – adidas Originals captured it exactly right: they brought back retro jerseys from nations that turn football heritage into street uniforms, added a new 26 season for national teams, and wrapped it all in collaborations like Bob Marley and a Messi 2006 reissue. Five countries in the campaign, but the collection goes wider

For Footshop we did our own campaign shoot with five models – Japan, Mexico, Argentina, Jamaica and Belgium. Each country has its own specific moment in the adidas archive that made it worth bringing back. Beyond these five hero countries, the collection has plenty more – Hungary, Ukraine, Chile, Costa Rica, Spain, Germany, plus the retro Messi 2006 reissue and the full Bob Marley capsule. Let’s go through it.

Drop #1 – adidas Bringback Remixed Japan Jersey

Japan is my clear pick of the whole collection. The Bringback Remixed Japan Jersey is a retro reissue of a kit that first dropped in the nineties – multi-color vertical stripes (power blue, white, red) on an off-white base, embroidered JFA crest with the Samurai Blue hawk on the chest. In the campaign shoot you can see the jersey worn solo with a black bandana around the neck – works as a football kit and as a pure street layer. If one country in the collection was going to win on collector’s value, this jersey would be it.

If you want a more modern option, the collection also has the Japan 26 Home Jersey (Japanblue / Ash Blue) and the Japan 26 Away Jersey (Off White / Black).

Drop #2 – adidas Mexico Track Top 1986 + Home Jersey

Mexico is the most complete package in this collection. The Track Top 1986 is a direct reissue from 1986, the year Mexico hosted the World Championship – green-white-red composition, FMF crest with the eagle on the chest, full-length zip. Pair it with the Mexico Track Tracksuit Bottoms 1986 for the full tracksuit set, or go with the Mexico 26 Home Jersey (Bold Green) as a pure fan pick. As a WC 2026 co-host country, Mexico gets the biggest push – high prediction for quick sell-out.

Bonus for Mexico fans – the collection also includes the collaboration Mexico Someone Somewhere Lifestyler Jersey (Black / Carbon), a collector’s piece made with the brand Someone Somewhere.

Drop #3 – adidas Argentina 26 Away Jersey

The Argentina away jersey in this black swirl finish is the most modern piece in the collection – black base with lucid blue swirl details and three white stripes on the shoulders. AFA crest with three stars on the chest (World Champion 2022 – three titles: 1978, 1986, 2022), FIFA 2022 champion patch on the right side. The collection also has the classic Argentina 26 Home Jersey (white-light blue).

And the big one for nostalgia fans – the collection includes the Argentina Home Jersey 2006 Messi (white). A reissue of the jersey a nineteen-year-old Messi wore at his first World Championship in Germany. Collector’s piece of the year for me.

Drop #4 – adidas Jamaica x Bob Marley capsule

Jamaica is the wild card in this collection – the Reggae Boyz didn’t qualify for WC 2026, but adidas worked around that with a full collaboration paying tribute to Bob Marley’s legacy. Jamaica x Bob Marley isn’t one product, it’s a complete sub-capsule:

For me this is the most lifestyle-friendly piece of the whole collection – works on its own without any football context, plays into a broader Caribbean culture aesthetic. In the campaign shoot the model wears the jersey + track jacket as a complete outfit paired with yellow Gazelles. A coordinated set you could buy in one click.

Drop #5 – adidas Belgium 26 Away Jersey

Belgium arrives in Frozen Blue / Black – a non-traditional away kit combining a muted blue tone with black details. Embroidered Royal Belgian crest with crown on the chest, classic three-stripe on the sleeves. For me the most fashion-leaning piece in the whole collection – the blue and black work with any denim, black trousers or shorts. A sleeper pick you won’t see much in the hype feeds but one you’ll thank yourself for later.

Eastern Europe is in too – Hungary and Ukraine

For our Central European audience, the collection has two regionally relevant pieces that adidas retro packs have been missing in recent years – Hungary and Ukraine. The Hungarian kit carries history, the Ukrainian one carries a different kind of weight right now.

Deep red home kit in Team Victory Red with the MLSZ crest on the chest. You can also grab the Hungary 26 Away Jersey (white). Hungary have been flying in the 2025/2026 season and this kit brings that energy right to your wardrobe.

Bright Yellow home kit with embroidered UAF crest. The blue away version Ukraine 26 Away Jersey (Glory Blue) completes the set. The Ukrainian national team has its own story in 2026 – regardless of where they stand on the pitch, this jersey is a symbolic piece that earns its place in this collection.
