adidas Originals took five of its court icons, unified them into a single white-and-green language and called it Objects of Legacy. No shouting, no logo splashed across the shoe. Just silhouettes that time doesn’t wear down, led by the one that started it all, the Stan Smith.
Hey, Tom from Footshop here 👋. Some sneakers you have to keep defending over and over. And then there are the ones you just put on the table and the room goes quiet. That’s exactly what the new Objects of Legacy collection is about: five court silhouettes that adidas dressed in the same white-and-green uniform, then let the design do the talking. Stan Smith 80s, BW Army, Powerphase, Tango Magnum and SC Premiere. Let’s take a look.

Five silhouettes, one language
White and green. Two colours that, at adidas, aren’t just colours but a whole language. Objects of Legacy lines up five court silhouettes side by side and dresses them in the same uniform to make one thing clear: they don’t age. They don’t need fresh hype every season. They work just as well today as they did thirty years ago, because timelessness isn’t built by shouting, it’s built by taking away. No loud logo, no extra detail. Just clean lines and materials that speak for themselves.
adidas Stan Smith 80s
Edition: faithful 1:1 reissue of the 1986 original
→ Stan Smith 80s at Footshop

Let’s start with the one that kicked it all off. Stan Smith was born on the court but outgrew it long ago. Today it’s a universal style symbol worn by everyone from architects to skaters. This Objects of Legacy version is a faithful 1:1 reissue of the 1986 original: a shorter tongue, a refined heel and a slimmer cut in soft premium leather. No surprises. Exactly why you love it.
adidas BW Army
Vibe: minimalism, T-toe, gum sole
→ BW Army at Footshop

Less obvious, all the more interesting. The BW Army was born in the 1970s as an indoor training shoe and has leaned on minimalism from the start: clean lines, the distinctive T-toe shape and a striking absence of the Three Stripes. This version gets a white leather upper, green accents and a gum sole. For someone who doesn’t want the first thing on their feet that absolutely everyone recognises.

adidas Powerphase
Bonus: double cup sole and EVA midsole
→ Powerphase at Footshop

The Powerphase was made for 1980s fitness culture and has kept its clean leather upper and understated detailing ever since. For its return it gets a reworked double cup sole and a comfortable EVA midsole, so it adds the kind of comfort you’ll appreciate after a full day on your feet to that timeless look. And within the whole pack, it’s now the most affordable.

adidas Tango Magnum
For whom: collectors and lovers of terrace classics
→ Tango Magnum at Footshop

The Tango Magnum brought football DNA to the court in the late 1980s and ties several worlds together at once: adidas’ T-toe heritage, terrace culture and street style. The Objects of Legacy iteration runs an archival look with a shortened tongue, a suede T-toe and a soft leather upper. A treat for those who want something off the mainstream.

adidas SC Premiere
Detail: translucent tongue and embossed Trefoil
→ SC Premiere at Footshop

The SC Premiere is the youngest of the bunch. It first appeared in 2019 as a modern take on adidas’ court heritage, blending archival design with a clean, contemporary line and a rubber cup sole. In the Objects of Legacy edition it’s at its most refined: soft leather, a translucent tongue and minimalist branding with a subtly embossed Trefoil.

So, which one are you taking?

The whole Objects of Legacy collection is on Footshop right now: five pairs, one white-and-green language, each with its own story. If you’re playing it safe, go for the Stan Smith.
