Hey, Tom from Footshop here 👋. Pokémon turns 30 this year, and adidas Originals threw it a party we haven’t seen before, a full collection built around nine Pokémon and fifteen pairs of shoes. Superstar, Samba, Adistar Control 5, ZX 8000, Handball Spezial, Megaride F50 and Adistar XLG 2.0, every silhouette got its own Pokémon identity, and we’ve got it in stock from day one.

Where the adidas x Pokémon collab came from
Pokémon launched back in February 1996 as a Game Boy series, and three decades later it’s one of the biggest franchise universes on the planet, games, an animated series, cards, movies. adidas had flirted with it before, we saw Campus x Pokémon and Advantage x Pokémon back in 2019 and 2020, but those were always one-off capsules. This one is different. For the 30th anniversary, adidas Originals went across the archive, Superstar, Samba, Handball Spezial, ZX 500, ZX 8000, Adistar Control 5, Adistar XLG 2.0 and Megaride F50, and handed every silhouette to a different Pokémon. The global premiere landed on 22nd September 2026, and it’s been available here from the same date.
Nine Pokémon, fifteen pairs
Instead of one flat design running across the board, every Pokémon got its own palette and its own details, so the collection reads like five smaller stories. Here’s the breakdown by who’s behind each model.
Pikachu
The most iconic Pokémon of the bunch got the most real estate, four pairs. Superstar II in yellow, white, and a Mid version. The yellow pair leans fully into the electric vibe, black tips on the tongue nod to Pikachu’s ears and the laces run through Poké Ball dubraes instead of the usual aglets. The white version is more understated, same Pikachu graphics and Poké Ball details, but in a cleaner mix that works better outside a hype rotation.
The fourth pair is easily the most anticipated one, the Megaride F50 Pikachu. The upper gets a 3D haptic lightning print that emerges from Pikachu’s cheek pouches on the heel tab and travels across the whole shoe, like an electric current running through it. Add a transparent TPU heel plate, Pokémon-branded laces and two interchangeable sock liners, so you can dial in exactly how “electric” you want it underfoot. It ships in special packaging too, with a Master Ball embossed on the box. The most loaded piece in the whole collection so far.
Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard
The whole evolution line got its own trio of Superstars, Charmander in cream with a fiery gradient across the Three Stripes, Charmeleon in a deep pink with claw-shaped stripes meant to evoke dragon skin, and the rarest piece in the whole collection, the Superstar Vintage Charizard. That one carries an actual dragon-skin texture on the upper, and wings hang off the laces, a detail that clearly carries Jeremy Scott’s signature and easily the biggest statement pair in the collection.
Mewtwo
The Psychic type got three pairs in an icy purple, the Samba OG with a metallic Poké Ball dubrae, the Handball Spezial in the same palette, and the ZX 8000, where Mewtwo’s eyes are embroidered on the lateral side and horns protrude from the heel. The most technical, most sci-fi pair in the whole collection.
Rayquaza
The Legendary dragon got three pairs in green, the ZX 500 Rs with mesh and a shaggy suede overlay, the Adistar Control 5 in a black-and-green mix, and the flagship of the collection, the Megaride F50, fully wrapped in a snakeskin-like texture with aerodynamic horns jutting from the heel. It’s the only pair in the collection without the usual Poké Ball dubrae, Rayquaza doesn’t need one.
Gengar and Haunter
The Ghost type is represented by two pairs, the Adistar Control 5 Haunter in a muted purple with sharp gradients on the tongue and heel, and the Adistar XLG 2.0 Gengar, where the character’s eyes are embroidered on the lateral side and jagged TPU spikes stick out of the heel. The darkest, most aggressive-looking duo in the collection.
