Edyta is a polish painter who is interested in their emotions, expressing them through contrasting colors, and occasionally blurring the lines between reality and fiction. She is of the opinion that painting lives through vivid colours, stimulating esthetic feelings and emotions in the observer.

You paint mainly portraits – why is that?

The preferred motif of my work is people. Strictly speaking, I am interested in their emotions, expressing them through contrasting colors, and occasionally blurring the lines between reality and fiction. A human face is for me an endless source of inspiration. Even with hidden eyes, it can convey a precise message.

How was it different to create the chair in comparison to paint on canvas?

The design of the chair is definitely a new challenge for me. However, it is very interesting, because I have not done this type of projects so far. It forced me to approach my art from a slightly different angle. In this project, I used materials from limited series of prints under acrylic glass from my works. It’s so inderesing that I literally used pieces of work to glue the chair. I did not expect such a nice effect at the end.

What do you want this chair to tell people?

Through my project, I wanted to convey so as not to limit myself to one medium. There are many other possibilities to show art, e.g. using it in the production of extraordinary furniture.

How or where do you want this chair used or to be placed?

I would like the chair to be given to a person who appreciates creativity and sensitivity to art.

You will be able to register for each of the seats on our Releases platform from today.
