No matter what you might have heard, shoes and trousers are the most important parts of a woman’s wardrobe. Every girl knows it’s true. And there probably isn’t a single girl without at least five pairs of trousers in her wardrobe. Cargo pants, skinny jeans, classic jeans, mom jeans, chinos, sweatpants, leggings, tracksuits... we could go on and on. Can you imagine that there was a point in time when a woman wearing trousers would be considered unacceptable. Did you know that the first women’s trousers were only made when women started to do sports? That was in the second half of the 19th century, and until then it was virtually unheard of that women would even wear trousers under their many layers of skirts. Luckily, women started riding bikes and hiking, and skirts or dresses were rather impractical for those activities. That’s why their first trousers had wide legs. An important milestone took place in the 70s: the design of the first women's trouser outfit to be worn on theatre stages. Then came World War I, and after it ended women started wearing suits with wide trousers; it became increasingly common to see actresses in movies wearing trousers. The popularity of trousers kept growing since the 1940s, as designers started including them in their collections. And in the second half of the 50s, women started wearing jeans and I guess you know what that means! Trousers suddenly became an important part of a woman’s outfit, and nobody could object to that anymore. And, indeed, the women’s part of Footshop is glad about that, because we can’t imagine a world without trousers.

Luckily, we don’t live in one. And so our offer lets you choose from a range of styles and colours designed by world-renowned brands. Try for instance women’s jeans by Levi’s, a long-standing success on the market, or cargo pants that attack the fashion trends of the last few years.
