Puma Velocity Nitro 5 x HYROX
Are you gearing up for your first HYROX race, or looking for sneakers that can handle miles and functional stations in one workout? The men's running sneakers Puma Velocity Nitro 5 from the Puma x HYROX collection are built precisely for this mix of running and strength. The fresh combination of Intense Mint/Light Lavender will energize every session, making you easy to spot at the starting line.
The Velocity Nitro 5 features a midsole made of NITRO foam, which is nitrogen-infused. This makes it lightweight, provides excellent cushioning, and returns energy on push-off, so you'll appreciate it during quick runs between stations and on longer, steady miles. The PUMAGRIP outsole offers reliable traction on both asphalt and indoor surfaces, holding firm even during sled pushes or lunges. HYROX is a fitness race that combines eight kilometers of running with eight stations, including sled push, rowing, and wall balls. Puma is its official partner, making these sneakers a perfect fit wherever functional training takes place. Founded by Rudolf Dassler in 1948 in Herzogenaurach, Germany, Puma has always placed athletic performance at the core of everything it does.

When one of the world’s leading sports brands teams up with the fastest-growing global fitness phenomenon, the result is a collection that elevates training gear to a whole new level. Puma x Hyrox is an official partnership designed specifically for the unique demands of HYROX races – an iconic concept that combines running with functional training stations (like sled pushes, rowing, or burpees). The result is a comprehensive, uncompromising range of footwear, functional apparel, and practical accessories for anyone looking to maximize their performance.
Complete Gear: From Top-Notch Sneakers to Apparel and Accessories
Hyrox races demand absolute versatility and durability from your entire wardrobe. The Puma x Hyrox collection covers your needs from head to toe:
- Innovative Footwear with Nitro™ Technology and PumaGrip: These sneakers feature cutting-edge PUMA NITRO™ foam for maximum energy return while running and a no-compromise rubber outsole PumaGrip that keeps your footing secure, even during heavy sled pushes (Sled Push).
- Functional and Anatomical Apparel: T-shirts, tanks, compression shorts, and leggings are designed using quick-drying dryCELL technology. The materials effectively wick sweat away from your body, are extremely elastic, retain their shape, and flat seams minimize chafing even during the most intense movements.
- Practical Training Accessories: The collection is complemented by spacious gym bags and backpacks with ventilated shoe compartments, functional headbands, wristbands, and water bottles that you'll appreciate on a demanding race day as well as during your everyday gym prep.
From the Gym to Modern Urban Style
The Puma x Hyrox collection excels not only in its technical specs but also in its striking visual style. Sharp lines, contrasting branding from both brands, and modern color palettes make this range a sought-after element for athleisure style.

The shoes from the collection, thanks to their stable and attractive silhouette, easily fit into a daily outfit with jogger pants, high socks, and a practical backpack from the same series. Choose gear that has been tested by thousands of athletes worldwide and push your limits.
The beast in the Puma emblem matches the aesthetics and image of the brand in reality. Quality workmanship, innovative technology and constant progress make Puma sneakers and clothing the most popular pieces in fashion and among athletes. Puma also likes to collaborate with famous artists, so you can treat your shoe or wardrobe to a piece designed by the Weeknd or Barbadian singer Rihanna.
How Puma became a legend
Puma could be considered the little brother of the brand with the three stripes in its emblem. Wondering how that's possible? Because the founders of Puma and Adidas, Rudolf and Adolf Dassler, were really brothers. They originally ran the business together when they were both building adidas. However, during the 1940s, there were fundamental differences between them regarding not only the functioning of the company, but also political issues.
The disputes continued to escalate until, in 1948, the brothers decided to go their separate ways. Rudolf thus founded the brand Ruda (Ru from his first name and Da from his surname). However, this name lasted only a few months before the company was officially renamed Puma. This name, of course, still adorns Puma shoes today.
In spite of the intense competition from the company run by Rudolf's brother, the company was beginning to thrive. As time went on, it increasingly expanded its influence and Puma shoes could be spotted more and more often. These were mostly sporting events related to athletics, football or basketball.
From podiums to fashion shows
And that's where the shoes with the beast in the emblem can be seen today. Puma shoes can be found on running tracks, football fields but also in the spaces between the two baskets. But besides sports grounds, Puma sneakers have also found their way onto the streets. In recent years, they have even found their way into the company of the world's leading streetwear sneakers. Globally, we are thus following the process by which Puma sneakers for men and women have moved from the podium to the spotlight at fashion shows over the past decade.
The legacy of Puma's history in the context of the future
The futuristic Puma Thunder Spectra, Thunder Electric or RS-X sneakers are particularly responsible for this - overall, the Puma RS series is one of the most popular in the new decade. Puma footwear also offers skateboard shoes, among which a silhouette called Suede stands out.
Puma shoes are a recent phenomenon that is still on the rise despite its long history. It can also be seen as a symbol that when you're up against a competitor that looks like it can't be beaten at first glance, you shouldn't lay down your arms. Puma footwear is, in short, extremely versatile and whenever you need to choose a new sneaker, Puma makes your job significantly easier. They'll even hold you up when you're looking for slippers.
At Footshop, you can find men's and women's Puma shoes in your size. You can choose if you're looking for black and white, but the Puma RS series in particular is distinguished by its colourfulness, so check them out too. Happy selection!
