Nike gained legendary status with its innovative Air technology. Nike History

The company we know today as Nike was originally founded as Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964. Designed by University of Portland student Carolyn Davidson, the logo came with a modest payment of $2 an hour for her labor (equivalent to about seven times that in today’s money).

Though the shoes were initially exclusive to him, they quickly became available to the public and became one of the most coveted sneaker lines in history.
