But originally Mike Graham, who named the Gramicci brand after his nickname in Stonemasters, created gear purely for climbers. He started with portable tents that you could sleep in on the rocks. And because he couldn't find comfortable shorts ideal for bouldering anywhere, he started designing and making his own. When he and his friends tried them out and made sure everything worked, the Gramicci brand was born. Not only did they start offering special climbing gear, but they quickly dove into making outdoor clothing that focuses mainly on comfort, functionality and technology.

In 2011, to celebrate their 30th anniversary, Gramicci launched a special G Movement line with NPT fabric.
