New Balance 2002R
The brand New Balance has been making sneakers since 1906, and the model 2002R blends its running heritage with today’s street style. These grey sneakers are perfect for all-day wear while still looking sharp. If you’re into retro silhouettes from the turn of the millennium and don’t want to compromise on comfort, you’ll find both here.
The upper is made of suede, which looks soft, fits comfortably on your foot, and adds depth to the grey shade. With a low cut, your ankle is free, making it easy to pair these sneakers with straight jeans, cargo pants, or shorts. The midsole with N-ergy cushioning softens every step, which your feet will appreciate, especially after a long day in the city. The Ndurance® outsole provides great traction and durability for many miles. The 2002R is based on the New Balance 2002 running shoe from 2010 and is now one of the brand's most popular lifestyle models. New Balance hails from Boston, USA, and continues to prioritize quality materials and thoughtful comfort.
New Balance 2002
Technical precision and definition of modern archive - New Balance 2002
If you're looking for a shoe that perfectly represents the intersection between high-end performance and sophisticated urban style, the New Balance 2002 (especially in the 2002R version) is a silhouette you can't miss. At Footshop, we see this model as the flagship of the "Refined Future" movement. It's a shoe that rejects fleeting trends and instead relies on technical depth, layered materials and an aesthetic that only gains in value with age. The New Balance 2002 is the choice for those who demand uncompromising quality and a design that speaks for itself.
The rebirth of luxury running
The story of the 2002 is one of technological domination. When the shoe first hit the market in 2010, it was billed as the "Bentley of running shoes". It was an exclusive model with a price tag that was then pushing the boundaries of the high-end. However, its return a decade later in the form of the 2002R version caused a real earthquake in the Footshop community. By taking the sole from the 860v2, a hybrid was created that carries the nostalgia of the noughties, but offers a futuristic feel with every step. It's a shoe that has moved seamlessly from marathon trails to metropolitan centers and creatives' studios.
Engineering for absolute comfort
What immediately strikes you about the 2002R is its technological equipment hidden under a mask of layered suede and technical mesh. The sole is fitted with N-ergy cushioning technology, which excels in its ability to absorb shock and instantly return energy to the rebound. The stability of the entire foot is provided by the Stability Web system in the arch, which prevents unwanted twisting of the shoe. The premium pig suede and durable mesh upper then gives the shoe its characteristic structure and depth. At thirty-five, you already know that comfort is not a luxury, but a standard - and the New Balance 2002 defines that standard.
An aesthetic of quiet luxury and curated selection
The magic of the "two-thousanders" lies in their ability to blend in with any mature wardrobe. At Footshop, we recommend this silhouette for its incredible adaptability. It's the perfect complement to minimalist wool trousers, but works just as naturally with premium denim or technical city-ready materials. It's a shoe for those who know that honest craftsmanship and technical provenance are the most exclusive statement these days. Choose your pair from our curated selection and rock a design that doesn't need to shout to be seen.

User reviews
More than a century of tradition based on stable and reliable movement. These are the New Balance shoes, which have become a symbol around which a cult of comfortable walking and running lovers has been created during the 20th century. But beyond sneakers, New Balance is also at the forefront of everyday and sports fashion. Every year, a special collection is released and more than one football team boasts the NB logo on their jersey.
The history and development of New Balance shoes
On our website and practically anywhere else, you won't find a large number of brands as old as New Balance. In fact, as early as 1906, the New Balance Arch Support Company was formed to provide specific aids for each shoe. These were designed to not only provide comfort to the then not-so-comfortable shoes, but more importantly stability by supporting the arch of the foot - hence the name New Balance.
However, New Balance sneakers as shoes did not start to come out until many years later. Specifically, the first silhouette of a New Balance shoe saw the light of day in 1960 when the Trackster model came out. It was unique among the others primarily because it was the first outright running shoe with a crimped sole.
But the marketing didn't work very well and for a long time New Balance shoes were still a community affair. It wasn't until the 1970s that sales started to grow, with the popularisation of running, which was also linked to the hosting of the now iconic Boston Marathon. New Balance shoes began to become popular among runners and the company slowly but surely became a leading manufacturer of running shoes.
For running? Yes, but also no.
Today, however, men's and women's New Balance sneakers aren't just a running thing. Over years of branding and image building, they have become sneakers for almost every situation. Today we wear New Balance shoes before a trip to the countryside, a city walk but also a social event and still undoubtedly before a sporting performance.
New Balance sneakers can therefore be found in a variety of different designs. Men's and women's, in black and white and many other colours. The most popular models today are mainly New Balance sneakers with the 247, 373, 574 and 997. Of course, you can find all these New Balance shoes on Footshop. But besides these, there are also many others and the ranges of the latest silhouettes are constantly growing. So before you make your final choice, carefully examine all of our New Balance sneakers.
A record for stability.
New Balance footwear today is not afraid to venture into collaborations with other fashion brands, but also artists or athletes. It's not so long ago that the NB logo also started to appear on the jerseys of some football teams, and it's not impossible that the brand's influence and reach will continue to grow in the future. New Balance sneakers are worn, for example, by Trayvon Bromell, the American sprinter who became the first junior ever to break the magic ten-second mark in the 100 metres. Could it be that New Balance shoes helped him to achieve this?
In short,New Balance sneakers are a phenomenon that we have been wearing for many decades and everything indicates that we will be wearing them for many decades to come. And hopefully in greater numbers. The original intention of the brand, to make wearing sneakers on a daily basis more enjoyable, has not left New Balance shoes even more than a century after the legendary phrase was introduced to the market.
So be part of a tradition with a clear vision and name your sneakers with the iconic NB in the logo.
