Hoka® Mafate 5
The Vibram® Megagrip outsole features a deep 5 mm tread that grips wet rocks, roots, and mud, making the women's Hoka® Mafate 5 trail running shoes built for serious terrain. These trail running shoes focus on maximum cushioning, so even in the final kilometers of a long run, you feel soft and stable support underfoot. Are you drawn to mountain ridges and distances measured in hours? The Mafate 5 will support you from the first ascent to the last descent.
The outsole measures 45 mm at the heel and 37 mm at the toe. The 8 mm drop suits runners with a neutral gait. The midsole made of compressed CMEVA foam is lightweight and durable, handling high weekly mileage with ease. The textile and synthetic upper is breathable, keeping your foot cool, and reflective elements enhance your visibility when you run in low light. The shoes weigh 286 g and are primarily designed for ultra running, but they’re also great for daily training on trails. The insole has a narrower B width, providing a better fit for slimmer feet. The colorway Frost/Tart Apple looks fresh and stands out among the trees. The HOKA® brand was founded in 2009 in the French Alps by trail runners who wanted to descend mountains faster and more gently, and it’s still known for its distinctive cushioning. You can find the Hoka® Mafate 5 at Footshop.
Hoka® Mafate
Maximum traction, stability and comfort for the demanding trail - Hoka Mafate
The Hoka Mafate is one of Hoka's most stable and technologically advanced trail shoes. They're designed for runners who run on really challenging terrain and want maximum support as well as soft, long-lasting cushioning. With a substantial foam layer and Meta-Rocker geometry, they deliver a smooth stride, confidence on technical trails and comfort even on long mountain runs. Plus, the Mafate line is known for its durability and stability, which you'll appreciate on long climbs, descents, and all-day trail expeditions.
The model is available in several sub-variants to suit different running styles. The Mafate Speed 4 offers the most dynamics, a lighter construction and an aggressive outsole ideal for faster trail tempos. The Mafate 3 / Mafate Origins is a sturdier, more stable option aimed at long technical runs, ultra-trails and terrains where maximum foot protection is required. All models use a breathable, durable upper and a soft foam midsole that does an excellent job of absorbing impact even on hard mountain ground.
They work best on rocks, roots, mud, mountain gravel and other technical surfaces where their aggressive traction and stable platform really come into their own. With normal trail use, you can expect a lifespan of around 600-900 miles, depending on how heavy the terrain you're running. If you're looking for a shoe that can handle ultra trails, heavy tech and mountain adventures, the Hoka Mafate is the obvious choice.
