This year, the Japanese brand Asics is experiencing great popularity with their sports silhouettes. This has already been the case in recent years, but the celebration of 30 years of the Gel-Lyte III has rocketed the brand into the awareness of a wider group of people around sneakers, as confirmed by the hype of the recently released collaboration with Sean Wotherspoon. Now Asics has teamed up with the Italian store Slam Jam and brings another great sports collaboration on the Novablast model.
The Asics NOVABLAST x Slam Jam collaboration is direct proof of how, in recent years, the once relatively thick line between cool sneakers and exclusively running shoes has been blurred. The Novablast silhouette is normally a high-quality running shoe that you probably wouldn’t visit a specialised sneaker shop for. However, when it finds itself in the hands of a sneaker shop as the subject of a joint project, it immediately gets a fresh, fashionable look, as confirmed by the past collaborations with Affix Works and Sneakersnstuff.
This, to some extent, is connected to the philosophy of Slam Jam, who continue to search for the “ultimate uniform” – an outfit that perfectly combines form and function.
Release date:
The sneakers will first be released exclusively on Slam Jam on the 21st of November. The global release is planned for the 26th of November, when the Asics NOVABLAST x Slam Jam collaboration will also be available on Footshop.
